Super Speller

Mackenzie was one of her class representatives in the school spelling bee today. She made it to the top five - YEAH Kenzie!!! We are very proud of her! The words she missed? "Hyphenate" (spelled with an "i" instead of an "e") and garlicky (spelled without the "k")

Cheap Diapers

It doesn't matter how good the sale is, or that you also have a $1.00 off coupon - cheap diapers are just that - CHEAP! And I can't wait until they are all used up...

I Walk For A Cure

It's that time of year again - time for the MS Walk. As a teen, I worked with an amazing woman who had Multiple Sclerosis - and an amazing outlook on life. She had a great impact on my life, so each year I participate in the MS Walk to make an impact in the lives of all those who have MS. I will walk on April 12th, and you can sponsor me by going to www.fightmsutah.org and scrolling down to the e-pledge button on the left-hand side. Just put my name, Tiffani Leavitt, in the appropriate boxes and it will find me.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

What A Storm!

Two days ago, after a few days of warmer weather, we were expecting a small storm. The forecasters on all of the channels didn't seem to think it would be that big of a deal. Well, I went out in the afternoon to pick up a few things for Valentine's Day and couldn't wait to get home. Between the wind and the snow, it was brutal. I couldn't see past the house right next to me. Then Don called to say that he had left Lindon and hour before and was only to American Fork. He got off the freeway, planning on taking back streets through Lehi. By the time he got to the Alpine Highway, they had closed it. Luckily, his sister, Erin, lives close by, so he went there to wait out the storm. He finally called me at 10pm to say that he would see me in the morning because the storm just wasn't letting up. I got up yesterday morning to shovel the driveway so it would be done when he got home. We had about 10 inches of wet, heavy snow, and it took me an hour to do the sidewalks and half of our driveway. I left the other half until today, but my arm is still sore. Don has always dreamed of being snowed in, but he really wanted it to be at home.

He's growing...slowly

We had Britton's 6-month check-up on Wednesday and he's a long, skinny guy. He is up to 27 inches, which puts him in the 50th percentile for his height. He only weighs 13 lbs. 11 oz., so he's not even on the chart for that. In fact, he's so far below the chart that the doctor wants to see him again in 6 weeks for another weigh-in. I'm not worried, though - all his sisters were the same way. That's just the way we manufacture kids here at the Leavitt household.

He's The Only One For Me

I got "tagged" by my sis, so I get to talk about my hubby!
What is his full name? Donnell E. Leavitt, III (sorry - I cannot reveal what the "E" stands for)
How long have you been married? We're coming up on 15 years - wow!
Who eats more sweets? Oh me, by far. He will sometimes say, "I'm not in a sweets mood." I don't think I've ever been in that mood!
Who said I love you first? He did. Others had told me not to expect anything long-term from him, so I wasn't about to let myself be vulnerable. But once he said it, I realized right away that I felt the same way.
How old is he? He's been 38 for two weeks now.
Who is taller? He is, by about 6 inches.
Who is smarter? He is so much smarter than me, and I'm no dummy.
Who can sing better? He has an amazing voice - one of the things that first attracted me to him. I love to sing, but I'm much better in large groups.
Who does the laundry? I do, but he will help fold when the clean laundry has been in a pile on the couch for a few days.
Who pays the bills? Me, but he makes the money.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Is there a wrong side...Actually, I sleep on the right side when we're laying down. I've just always slept closer to the door. I think it's because I've always gone to bed first.
Who mows the lawn? Don - he's the only one who can run our poor old mower.
Who cooks dinner? I do - except for on my birthday and Mother's Day
Who drives? He has such a long commute to work each day that he gets sick of it, so I drive whenever we go out together. Of course, when we go out in the Fiat, he always drives.
Who is more stubborn? No question - me.
Who kissed who first? He kissed me. And then kept kissing me. There was a lull in the conversation.
Who asked who out? He asked me out, but I wasn't sure if he actually was. I thought I might just be invited to a group thing. But it was actually a date.
Who has more siblings? He does, by two.
Who wears the pants? I think that we both do, just our own pairs.

The End Of An Era...

Okay, so maybe that's a little strong, but I did have my birthday this last week and I'm having a harder time with it than I've ever had before. A couple of reasons why: First, I can no longer say that I'm in my "early thirties." Second, the online surveys I take group people in age categories. With this bday, I have moved up into the next age category.

I guess you could also say that it is the end of Britton's "toothless" era. That's right, he got his first tooth last week, and seems to be working on a second one already. He is also sitting up on his own now, but not with perfect balance so we have to post someone next to him in case he "tips." "Scooting" is the skill he is working on now. So fun, but a little sad, to watch him growing up. I will try to post new pictures of him soon - I need a new cord for my camera.
