How Quickly A Year Goes By

Our boy turned 1-year old in July! He didn't really get presents, although he loved playing with them, but he definately "got" birthday cake!

The First Half of July...

We had a busy, but awesome, month of July. The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. We spend it with my family at Sugarhouse Park each year - playing games, eating, and hanging out until the awesome fireworks show. The next day was Maddy's baptism. We had a lot of wonderful friends and family there to support her and we are so grateful for all of them. She looked beautiful and we are so proud of her! After that, we got to have my sister and her two daughters stay in Salt Lake and play for a week. We had a lot of fun, including a trip to the zoo. This one was a lot drier than our Memorial Day excursion.

Sweet Boy

I have alot of pictures to post of the last two weeks' activities, but I only have a moment and I wanted to share a sweet story with you. We have a very handicapped girl in our ward who is 18 years old, but is about the same mental level as Britton. In Relief Society, Britton was on the floor rolling a small ball around, when he pushed it over to the foot of her wheelchair. She leaned over and was trying to grab it, but it was just out of her reach. She kept reaching, but couldn't quite get it. Britton saw her, crawled over and picked up the ball, and handed it to her. It was one of the sweetest things I've ever seen... I love that kid!

Birthday Milestones

For her 8th Birthday, Maddy got her first porcelain doll from Grandma Jani. Doesn't it look like her? And you'll never guess what the doll's name is...that's right, it's Madeline. Grandma Jani, you are amazing.

For her 10th Birthday, Emma got her ears pierced. She was so brave - no tears! She barely even flinched...although I did notice her squeezing Don's hand tighter on the second ear.

Can't Stop Partying

Maddy and Emma have back-to-back birthdays, so we do back-do-back parties. This year Maddy got to have her 8-year old slumber party and Emma had a water party. We were exhausted once they were over, but we sure had fun!
