Recovery

Britton spent last Friday night (until Saturday morning) crying and pulling at his ears. We took him to the doctor Saturday morning where he was diagnosed with ear infections. (note the "s" - both ears were infected) We got a prescription for an antibiotic, which seems to be working on the ears, but is wreaking havoc on his bowels. We're going through alot of Crisco. Yes, I use Crisco on my baby's diaper rashes - it protects the skin like Desitin used to. (Why did the change it to "creamy?")
On a positive note - they weighed Britton and he is up to 15 lbs. 6 oz. That means he has gained 1 1/2 lbs. in 6 weeks, so the doctor has stopped worrying about him.

Poor little guy and poor mommy and daddy!! I was a child with lots of ear infections and so I always feel really bad when I hear about a small one that is having them. They are awful!

Those antibiotics can be a nightmare! Have you tried feeding him yogurt or just giving him acidophilus? The good bacteria are great since the antibiotics are killing all bacteria in his system--good and bad. I hope he's doing better!

When Liam had his ear infection, the doctor suggested we give him Activa with it. We didn't have a single problem. Hope he is feeling better.
